Botanical Art Worldwide 2025 - Call for Entries!

 
 
 

The global exhibition “Botanical Art Worldwide” (BAWW) is set to return for its second edition in 2025!

This unique art project is organized by the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) in collaboration with botanical art associations from around the globe.

It unites international artists to artistically showcase the diversity and significance of plants.

Venue and Organization in Germany

In Germany and Austria, the exhibition is organized by the “Netzwerk Botanische Kunst Deutschland” in collaboration with the gallery “Forum Botanische Kunst.

The German / Austrian contribution will be displayed at the Forum Botanische Kunst in Thüngersheim from May 18 to July 20, 2025.

The organizing team consists of renowned artists and experts:

  • Sylvia Peter and Verena Redmann (International Organizing Committee)

  • Michael Junginger (Gallery Owner, Forum Botanische Kunst)

  • Margareta Pertl (President, Vienna School of Botanical Illustration)

Theme: Crops – Cultivated Plants in All Their Diversity

The upcoming exhibition revolves around the theme "Crops."

The aim is to draw attention to the immense diversity of cultivated plants grown worldwide while contrasting this with the limited varieties used in mass production.

The artworks will focus on traditional crops from the respective home countries of the artists.

This highlights not only the cultural significance of these plants but also their biological value.

Why Participate?

BAWW offers artists a unique opportunity to present their works in a global context.

Who can participate?

Participation is open to all botanical artists living in Germany, Austria, or one of the guest countries.

Guest countries include European nations without their own contribution to the exhibition.

Artists from guest countries are encouraged to get in touch early.

  • Gouache

  • Watercolor

Drawing

  • Pencil

  • Colored pencil

  • Ink

Handmade Printmaking

 

Photography, digital art, or plant-based objects are not permitted.
