Your Room For Creative Joy

A Simple Guide to Creating Your Dedicated Art Space

Today, let's chat about making a cozy space where your plant-inspired art can bloom without a fuss.

Imagine a quiet spot, free from distractions, where your creativity flows like a gentle stream.

I´m on a mission to help you make this space, so your love for plants and art can make a happy dance together.

Ready for a stress-free journey into your creative world? Let´s dive in.

Creating a Quiet Haven

Think of a spot where your creative thoughts and energy can flow, away from all the noise.

No need to fight distractions all the time, but creating in silence, peace and with focus.. In silence your thoughts can flow undisturbed and you are able to connect with your inner world.

It's scientifically backed that it's a huge effort for us to get back into our flow once we are distracted. So let's conquer that challenge and find a quiet space for creativity.

Imagine your art space right where you are, always ready to roll. No more setting up your art supplies, tearing down because you need the space and then you need to set it back up again. It makes establishing your creative habit so much harder!

Having a dedicated space means you have instant access to your creative zone, ready to roll whenever you like.

But it's not only having the space ready, it's also about having your art materials ready. Your art materials want to be right where you need it - so give them their cozy spot in your art space, without feeling everything's cramped.

Enough room to spread your arms, giving you the freedom to let your creativity run wild.

Let there be light! What you also need to consider when creating a space for you to draw, sketch or paint is the lighting conditions. If you don't have pre-installed lights there, just take a desk lamp.

Don´t make a big deal of it!

Adding Magic to Your Space

Once your space is set up effectively, take care of the fun stuff - decorating!

Surround yourself with things that make you smile - Light a candle, your favorite scent or have a little altar with pretty stones or nature treasures. Nothing big and nothing fancy, it can even be a simple plate with all your lovely stuff.

Adorn your space with decorations that speak to your creative spirit - a sanctuary for your artistic soul.

Remember, your space is sacred, treat it with love.

Imagine the joy of walking into a tidy, ready-to-go creative haven. No more daunting cleanup, just the pure bliss of diving into your art. No more stressing about cleaning up before diving into your creativity.

Just the joy of jumping right in.

Leave your art space tidy and ready for your next session. Always.

My Art Space Journey

It's not that I had an art space like this just right from the start. So if you currently have no idea or can't think of setting up dedicated space for you, I can totally relate.

Let's take a quick look at how my art space evolved – from chaotic family dining tables to a tiny dedicated office space. I even turned my bedroom into an art hub.

Sometimes, you gotta start somewhere, right?

As I already mentioned, I started out with no dedicated workspace and painted on the family dining table with a 2 and a 4 year old at that time, who loved mommy´s watercolors.

I had constant distractions and a whole lot of mess around me. And everytime I finished painting, I had to put everything away just to set it up again.

I do not have to say that I was rarely working there, do I?

After quite some time I decided to revamp our small office room to at least have a “half-dedicated” work space. That already was SO much better!

I could leave my art stuff there, ready to start whenever I had a couple of minutes to create. I never needed to put things up and down anymore.

Literally a game changer.

As I became more serious about my art business, I needed more space in my office again to work on all the administration and behind the scenes stuff. Kind of the opposite of what you would think about an art business, right? More laptop, less drawing board.

But that's a story for another day.

Now, I tried to find a spot somewhere else in the house, because again I was back at the dining table and needed to put things away and then start all over again.

So by thinking about a quiet room without distractions, the only room I could think of was our sleeping room. But there wasn't only our bed in there but also 4 dressers, completely stuffed with - well, stuff.

This was going to be a bigger project.

I sorted out all the unnecessary stuff, some things I just tucked away somewhere else to find a solution for it later.

That way I was able to get rid of all 4 dressers in the sleeping room and to put up a desk as my dedicated creative workspace.

That's basically where I still draw and paint. And you know what, it works great!

What I wanna tell you with this story…

You have to start somewhere and then you´ll find a better option along the way.

You will likely not have the perfect space for you right away. On the other hand, maybe you will!

I encourage you to have a look around you in your flat or even your house, to find a small little spot for you to have your own dedicated space.

Creating Space Within

In order to do that, you have to make inner space as well. The most crucial space that you have to prime and nurture is in your mind.

You deserve a dedicated space for your creativity.

It's about creating a mental room for your creative spirit to stretch and breathe, free from doubts and outside hassles. Expressing yourself is a vital journey, and the first step is creating that space within.

Get started, now.
